Sam and Izzy are two dogs who live in a small town in West Virginia.

Sam is a female English Bulldog.
Izzy is a female Chihuahua.

They’re two very different dogs who like each other.

Meet the Author

Danny Pettry was born and raised in Beckley, West Virginia. He received his master’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana.

Pettry received his undergraduate degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Marshall University, Huntington, West Virginia.

Pettry has practiced as a Recreational Therapist with Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credentials since 2002. He has primarily provided services for children between the ages of 7 and 13.

In providing therapeutic care for children, Pettry has used a mix of recreational therapy interventions to help in the recovery process under the supervision and recommendation of an attending physician. Some of these include: social skills training, empathy training, relaxation training, therapeutic journaling, expressive arts, physical fitness, teambuilding, bibliotherapy, cinema therapy, and other recreational therapies.

Pettry is an idealist/ healer and he wants to help create a better world.
